Hopecam Stories
Research tells us that isolation and loneliness are disruptive and devastating for children. While in treatment for cancer, children are separated from their friends at school, and lose most social interaction. Hopecam bridges that gap by providing each child with a tablet computer and a corresponding web camera in their classroom. We also coordinate with school administrators to successfully connect each child with his or her school.
The contact between these children and their friends keeps them in a somewhat normal frame of mind. Whether it's just chatting, sitting in on story time, sharing in a birthday party, or playing an online game with friends, it helps both the child and his or her classmates to feel better about the situation.
